What it is
DatoCMS is the headless CMS most-used by European digital agencies. GraphQL API, modular blocks, strong asset pipeline (Imgix-powered images), multi-language as a first-class concept. Smaller mind-share than Sanity or Contentful but a tight, well-built product.
Best for
- European agencies and their clients
- Multi-language content with the i18n model baked in cleanly
- Image-heavy sites — the Imgix integration is genuinely best-in-class
When not to pick it
Skip DatoCMS for very large enterprise deployments — Contentful is more battle-tested at that tier. Smaller agencies and mid-market sites are the right fit.
My take
DatoCMS is excellent and underrated. If you are running a European agency, it is probably already in your stack.
